National Safety Congress & Expo is coming up fast! It starts this weekend in Indianapolis and goes into next week. I will be there, as well as some of my Little Giant colleagues. On Monday, we will be at our booth, Booth #2407, where we will be officially launching one of our brand new products!
On Tuesday at 3:30 I will be speaking on a panel with five other people. It is Workshop #82. The topic is “Ladder Injuries are Increasing: How to Buck the Trend.” If you want some great tips, stop by to hear our panel!
For updates, make sure to follow me on Twitter (@laddersafetyguy). Little Giant Ladders will also be posting updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Will you be at NSC this year? Make sure to stop by and say hi.
Here are a couple of throwback pictures from NSC a couple of years ago:
I haven’t posted about my travels in a couple weeks, but I thought you might want to know what I’ve been up to. Since my last post, I’ve been traveling almost constantly.
Last week, I was in New Jersey providing safety training to employees of Exxon Mobile at a variety of the facilities in the area. They wouldn’t let me take any photos inside, but here is one from their headquarters. It was great giving the training. As you can see, Jersey has gotten a good amount of snow, which was nice. So, that was my fun last week.
This week, I am starting off in Oregon. Yesterday, I spoke at the GOSH Conference in Portland. It’s a great city. This conference is a health and safety event put on by the Oregon governor. Cool, right? It’s an honor to have been asked to speak. Today, I will be meeting with rep firms in the area.
Portland Governor’s Conference
Then, tomorrow and Thursday I will be heading down to Houston for some ladder safety training with McCrory & Associates, the Little Giant Rep Firm for Texas, Louisiana and Alabama. It should be fun!
On Saturday and Sunday, I will be headed to Pennsylvania to help with a QVC promotion Little Giant has this weekend for the TitanX.
It will definitely be a busy week! Will you be seeing me in any of these places? Or, have you seen me during some of my recent travels?
Our NSC Display
We had a great time this week with those of you who were at NSC in San Diego. We had a large display area set up with some great safety products set up. We introduced our newest ladder, the SafeFrame. We also had some of our other top selling products including the Aerial Safety Cage and the Sumostance.
NSC Presentation with Panel
If you missed it, I had the opportunity to give a presentation on Monday on Fall Prevention vs. Fall Protection.
Here are some of the highlights from the presentation:
-The room was absolutely packed. There was standing room only.
-As part of the presentation, we had a panel of industry professionals who talked about fall prevention and how it related to their industries.
-The moderator for the session was Charles Stebbing, VP of the Virginia State Safety Council. We loved his sense of humor and his years of experience in the safety industry. At the end of the session, he said he would like to see our fall prevention message delivered on a bigger stage.
-On the panel, we had Jeff Spackman of Comcast speak about some of the unique challenges in the cable industry. He also talked about how Comcast has partnered with manufacturers to help innovate products that will reduce injuries.
-Nathan Brimhall, of CCI Mechanical, was also on the panel. He spoke about I Care and how his company has focused on the human side of safety training.
We hope those of you who came enjoyed the presentation and were able to leave with valuable material. The moderator said he enjoyed it as well.
If we didn’t get a chance to talk to you, make sure to reach out to us here on the Hub!
NSC is this week! We have been planning and preparing for this conference for months. If you are there, make sure you stop by our booth, #829! We have some great, new products on display, and we’ll have people on hand to answer your questions.
Also, TODAY at 1:45, stop by room 24C to hear me speak about fall prevention vs. fall protection. We’re actually going to have a panel of industry experts talking about the specific fall prevention needs in various industries. I think it will be both interesting and informative for those who come. Make sure to stop by room 24C to hear the presentation.
As I mentioned, we’ve been working hard to prepare for the conference, so make sure you stop by to check us out!
This year’s NSC Expo is September 15-17. We will be there with our booth, Booth #829. Like the other expos and conferences, we will have a great display set up with some of our ladders. We also have a couple of surprises up our sleeve, so make sure you stop by to check out the booth!
I will be speaking on Monday September 8th at 1:45. The topic will be fall prevention vs. fall protection. This topic is one we’ve been talking about a lot recently, just because of how important it is. At our session, there will also be a panel of experts who will be talking about fall prevention and protection in their industries. We will have a handful of people from a variety of industries who have a variety of needs. We are hoping this panel will be helpful to all of you. So, if you are at NSC on Monday, make sure to come by room 24C to learn a little more about fall prevention vs. fall protection in various industries.
